There are two types of Garage Door Opener - those that use a rolling code and those that use a fixed code. A rolling code means that every time you open or close your garage, the remote and the motor mounted to the garage ceiling communicate and agree upon a new and unique code. The benefit is that it is less likely that someone can intercept your code and use it to access your garage while you aren't home.
